The health aspects begin the update, as usual. I had my latest round of blood tests and medication renewal. As part of the blood test conversation, I asked if it was possible to move to the 3-monthly tests and medication renewal. That was discussed with Dr. Rahman at our last phone call and he did state that it would be the decision of the specific blood unit themselves. Pleased to say that, after they liaised with the pharmacy, they confirmed that I can move to the 3-monthly tests / renewal, from September; therefore, one more 2-monthly test in September, then move to 3-monthly. That change means much more than the obvious time saving. It is the last aspect that gives me the best indication that my current health situation is the lowest ‘priority’ possible, from the medical health professional perspective. That change is another great mental boost, as those tests and the frequency of them, is the only real indicator I have now, of how my situation is evolving - at least from the aspects that I cannot see or feel.

Regarding what I can feel, the week has been variable. I have felt more tired this week, but that may be a result of our visitors and us staying up later than normal, catching up and socialising. I have noticed that the lower left side of my back is more painful, but in a muscular sense, with a kind of ‘pulling’ being evident. That is impacting me when I conduct my walks and this week, I have managed 2 of the longer walks, further up the steep hill, near where we live. I have begun to change the ratio of walks, aiming for 2 longer & 1 shorter, but will see how the back pull impacts that; so far, the first week of being able to do 2, which is good and no other impact on my muscles or the like.

Sandra’s brother and his partner remained with us on Monday, flying back home Monday evening. We had a nice relaxing last day of their visit, with a chance to pop along and say goodbye to Alanna and Karl. The rest of the week was catching up on household aspects, as well as continuing to liaise with the printers on Volume 6. The covers of the books always require adjustments and further tweaks were made, which will hopefully complete all required aspects, ahead of printing. I also focused part of my week on other creative projects, some of which will become evident in the not too distant future (hopefully). I have more ideas in my head, than the hours in a day allow me to move forwards. A couple of days indulging in those and their potential, was a nice change and something that retirement has allowed me to do.

We ended the week with a visit to Kim’s, where we had an invite to a small get together with her family and that of Emma. You may recognise them from previous meet ups and it is great to keep contact and take time to plan these get togethers. An enjoyable end to the week, bathed in glorious Kent sunshine.

I hope you enjoyed the National Ice Cream Day updates this week, photo and video and thanks for your continued interactions on that side line fun project. I have the next video ready for later this coming week, alongside a notable and significant change in track, for this light-hearted project.

I appreciate all of your comments and feedback, enjoyable and thanks.

Regards

Peter
