Hello to all of you taking the time to read this.
Health update first, and the week presented two main issues, one directly cancer related and one ‘normal’. The normal impact came in the form of a cold, which began to arrive last weekend, but was in full flow during the week; with all of the usual side effects. In addition, towards the end of the week, that appeared the transform into more of a flu, with a drop in body temperature and shivering, followed by intense joint pain during the night. That is still in place as you read this and the drop in temperature and shivering (coming on during the evening) has been in place for two days now. That increase in related pain, is making it hard to determine what my cancer related pain levels are, as the more physical aspects of the warehouse shut down, diminish.
The second health issue, is a follow on from last week’s mental challenges. They continued and worsened in the first half of the week. Both Sandra and I had an emotional heart to heart conversation, as a result, due to the impact being evident upon both of us. That heart to heart did help reset things a little and we are aiming to be more upbeat, as a result. We will see how that plan goes though. A tough challenging aspect of dealing with cancer that is ever present, if not always discussed.
Due to the onset of the cold, the non-work focuses have centred around some research with one of the recently acquired albums, which made great initial headway. The result of that has now created a list of further investigations, but that will slow down now, as I continue the focus on the current book project; I have a deeper insight into the contents of that album and it is insanely exciting! I completed a further 2 chapters of corrections and that brings me up to date with the current proof reading on Volume 6 of my WSS Knights series. As I await some more of the checked chapters, I have begun to move to another project that I stalled last year (Fritz Witt photo and text book). The benefit of having so much raw archival material, is that I can work on various projects continuously and rarely have ‘nothing to do’. That helps ensure the overall progress of my remaining planned books and I have found it an efficient method of approaching these intense research projects, which I turn into the products that many of you acquire and enjoy.
We did manage to find the time to have a meal with our friends Kim and Andy on Sunday; our last meet up was pre-Xmas. That was a nice way to round off a challenging week for both of us and great to catch up with both of them.
Thanks for the continuous input and support, especially regarding the mental challenges mentioned in the previous update. Your comments and messages were welcomed and helpful, as I hope my ongoing insights are to some of you.
For now, time to sign off and plan what this week brings.
Regards
Peter
