Pleased to say an overall continuation of the improved / less impactful situation that is now into week 3.
The sensitive fingers and feet, together with the finger and toe nails, are the main issues being dealt with currently, but so far, managing them daily. Towards the end of the week, there was a noted increase in tiredness levels in the afternoon / evenings, towards the end of the week, which may be linked to the decrease in the steroids? However, had a notable bite from an insect mid-week, which may also be part of the impact - no idea of what insect, but got me 3 times and the tiredness increased within 24-hours of those bites taking place.
We have also noticed that the hair appears to be starting its second come back. I had managed a hair cut just prior to the restart of the chemo, which then caused further hair loss, from the little that was left after the first chemo sessions. Certainly will take some time before I think I need to contemplate a second ‘cancer phase haircut’, but a small positive aspect, which does help make a difference.
I had a call over the weekend to confirm the liver ultrasound that was discussed during my last face to face with the Oncologist, back at the end of May, so a 2-month wait for that; the trepidation of the potential results of that, are added to the CT scan booked in for the following week; will hopefully have a clear picture by the time I see the Oncologist in mid-August.
To help start the rebuilding of the stamina levels, I begun some light exercising this week. I intend to continue that and increase it, with a view to getting things back to pre-chemo impact levels. Connected to that, I done some sorting out of the garage on Sunday, but then felt tired after that. Another reminder that my body’s strength has been depleted over the past few months, to a degree I have not been aware of. Will see how the exercising positively impacts that.
Thanks for the continued interest and support.
