Busy ‘normal’ week, but also more medical aspects, is what this week has seen.

Firstly, following on from last week’s trip, we celebrated our actual anniversary date on Monday, with the kids and grandkids there for a meal. Was a ‘school night’, so nothing too excessive, but nice to round off that key milestone with those close to me.

That same day also seen my second hormone injection, with some queries around the side effects. The first one last month left me feeling lethargic, and a painful arm for a few days. The one this week had the same painful arm for a couple of days, but instead of the lethargy, a dull sore head for a couple of days; something to monitor each time.

In addition to that, a contact from Macmillan, regarding a ‘key concerns’ survey, which they will dispatch for me to complete, then discuss with them in around 1 week’s time. As part of that phone call, I enquired about when the chemo will begin and was told that there are appointments booked in. I responded by stating that I have had no notification of those and the first one is the start of next week! I will see what comes through, but would hope that subsequent appointments are notified with more of a notice period, as day to day life has to adjusted accordingly; we’ll see.

Besides that, a number of distractions to keep me focused day to day, which have included a busy day job week, plus plenty of activity around my hobby projects which centre around the very recent release of my new book title, as well as ongoing new business auction activity. These new and exciting aspects run in parallel to the mortality awareness and ‘defined’ remaining time frame. I continue to focus on what I can do, not what I will be prevented from doing in the coming remaining months and years. Good positive distractions, which I will spend time on, to counteract the uncontrollable cancer impact.
