Health update first, as per the established format. The week started with Physio, which was not too bad. Some manipulation and massaging, with us both agreeing to move mine to once a month (will bring it forward, if needs arise). Tiredness has been the main issue this week, which may be just the change in seasons / clocks going back, etc.; will monitor that aspect. I done another 3 walks in the week, but they were slower than before, with 13:06, 13:12, then 13:21. I would prefer if they were back under 13:00, but will be content with getting the heart pumping and leg muscles moving; the timings will hopefully improve.

Sandra continues to move forwards and due to increasing back pain, she had her first private physio since before the operation (her final hospital physio is this coming week). He knows exactly what the issue is and will be working on that over the coming weeks. She continues with the exercise bike and has already increased her duration. Sandra’s overall improvement helps with the mental and physical impact on both of us, so nice to see and we are confident about the future for her.

The main focus for me in the past week was to get the appendices completed for Volume 7, as I had given myself a deadline of the end of October. They are a time consuming aspect to this series, but I feel they are important, especially as we close the series. Pleased to say that they were completed and the book is now off for proof reading. My focus has shifted onto the maps and the base work is already underway, but again, a time consuming aspect. Unsure of how many maps will be needed, but should have a better idea at the end of the coming week.

I also took some time out to test drive a few cars. Karl has been keeping an eye out for me and sent me some in the east Kent area. A fair amount of driving around, to get to each one, plus the lack of daylight did not help (I had a hair cut appointment on that day, which impacted the amount of time available to do the test drives and get from car to car). Two of them were good, one was a private seller, one was a garage / car seller. I am favouring one of them, but want to take Karl to give it a mechanical once over. The third was an absolute shed - looked okay in the advert, but was very shabby and lots of bits broken / missing. Overall, I am erring more towards an older run around. That is due to the deep disappointment with the recent car that I sold back to the dealership / not actually using a car much each week / not knowing my actual remaining timeframe. Will see where I end up with the car choices, but am relaxed about the whole thing and using one car at the moment is not causing us too many issues.
In summary, another ‘average’ health week, with time being spent on important, normal, things for me.

I sincerely appreciate your ongoing interest.

Regards
Peter
