Another non-eventful week on the health front (well, almost). Two walks completed with times of 12:32 and then 12:42; I was unable to do a 3rd one, due to attending a show over the weekend. I undertook a bit of autumn gardening on Thursday which involved moving things around, cutting back overhanging hedges from next door, then cutting the grass. The hedge / bush cutting proved more challenging that anticipated, which then left with a temporary pain impact - but all self-created and nothing AD-related.

Sandra continues on her good recovery path and she had her next physio on Tuesday afternoon, at the hospital. They are happy with how she is progressing and have added another sequence of exercises to her existing regime. That has proved challenging and painful initially, but then by the end of the week, things were already easing for her. Step by step, but all in the right direction.

Outside of the health aspects, I undertook a second test drive of the same car that Alanna and I had test driven the week before. This time, Sandra, Karl and Rachel came along, as I needed Sandra to drive the car to get her opinion and I needed Karl’s expertise on the mechanical and general car assessment perspectives. All went well and I was following up on the following day, but someone else had bought it. No real loss, as I was not 100% certain and I am off the opinion that I will get what I am supposed to.

Sandra and I met up with Martin, my former work colleague, on Wednesday evening. We had a pleasant meal and great to catch up with him, the first time since June / pre-Sandra’s op. Another beneficial social aspect that has returned is Karl popping round. He helped me move some unwanted items out of the garden, on Thursday morning, which then gave me the space to re-jig things in the later morning and afternoon. Nice to be able to spend time with him again and his new routine will allow that to continue, as it did before he had his stint in Cornwall.

On the writing front, I kept to my self-created deadline and managed to complete the next key stage on Tuesday night - the end of September. Great to keep on course with Volume 7 and over the weekend, Sandra helped me check off a key list, which sets up the next key phase for October. We done that whilst taking part in the Battles Through History show, near Gatwick. I attended that as an author and I delivered a talk on the life of Fritz Witt, interacted with various customers and had a chance to catch up with various people, which was very nice. My co-Author Martin (not the same one as above!) joined us on the Saturday and brought along some unique items that belonged to Fritz Witt and if you were one of those that came along and seen those, you took part in a rare opportunity to get close to those historically significant and poignant items. Overall, a nice end to the week, with a stay in a local traditional Inn, with very nice meals both evenings, before making our way home.

A very varied and busy week and it is nice to be able to focus on things like those detailed above, instead of the health aspects dominating things.

Thanks for the various comments from last week’s update - appreciated and helpful.

Best regards
Peter.
