Health-wise, another week of no real dramas or issues, apart from the start of a normal cold at the weekend. I did manage 2 walks this week with times of 13:00, then 12:52; had a third one planned for the weekend, but the weather, then the start of the cold - which is leaving me feeling tired on and off, put paid to that.

Sandra had her 6-week consultant’s catch up on Tuesday and as everything is going well, he officially signed her off from his care, although she still has to attend more physio there, for the time being. She also done 4 half days at work, her longest since the op; whilst tiring, she is pushing herself. She is also doing more and more normal tasks and picked up a number of normally shared tasks, over the weekend, due to my tiredness.

With the kids back at school, I have returned to normal consultancy work, which was nice, as we have a lot to catch up on. Alongside that, the book research continued well too.

To round off the week, we has the annual Skabour event taking place here and although I do not attend the music events over the 3-days, I always take part in the scooter ride out on the Sunday morning. However, the appearance of the cold on Saturday afternoon and into Sunday, almost stopped that for the year. After discussing with Sandra, factoring in that the winter is not far off, together with the background knowledge that at some point I will not be able to do these, we both agreed that a ‘try it and see’ approach was best. I did go there, talk to some friends, then took part in the first stage of the ride out. From leaving the house to returning, was 1-hour in total, much shorter than normal, but at least I took part and got to ride along with fellow scooterists for a bit.

I have used one of the piccies taken there, but it is one that belies the reality of the situation. It appears normal, but was not, as I only took a ride-out of a handful of miles, not the whole distance, due to the arrival of the cold. That is the case with many of the images I use; they appear normal, but are often not showing the reality of the situation at the time.

Another fairly normal week for me, which I continue to welcome, as I do your ongoing input into these updates.

Best regards

Peter
