I will start this week with a health update, but not mine. You may recall that I mentioned Sandra was due for her hip operation. That took place on Monday and all went well with the actual operation; we then had the rest of the week dominated by the start of her post-op recovery. That has been variable and the first few days were challenging for her, but she is making small improvements each day.
For me, I started the week (after dropping Sandra off at the hospital) with my latest physio session, with tighter muscles at the bottom of my left side. This was as a result of the family activities undertaken the previous week. The various ‘care in the community’ activities that I have been doing, to help Sandra, have also impacted my back pain. Sunday was the peak so far, with a fair amount of lower back pain. Broken sleep, ensuring Sandra was looked after, alongside covering the usual domestic routine, all added up.
I did manage two walks, with 13:04 and 13:12 done. The first of those was only done as Alanna came and ‘babysat’ Sandra, to allow me to get out and cover off essentials, plus get a walk in; the second one on Sunday was undertaken with Sandra alone, but she had everything she needed until I returned.
Around caring for Sandra and covering the usual (shared) domestic routine, I did manage to carry on with work on Volume 7, with 3 additional formations summarised, then a start made on a fourth. Fair to say that the final months of the war were ones of extreme confusion for the Germans and deciphering what took place is not easy, plus it is taking longer than expected, as a result.
I also had confirmation that the new book is due in the coming week (the cover is shown in this week’s image - I appreciate that this may not be of interest to all of you who read this, but it is a significant part of what Sandra and I chose to do with my remaining time). Along with the new book, will be 3 reprints of existing titles.
In summary, most of my time and focus has been on Sandra’s post-operation recovery, with a few of the usual elements bolted on around that.
Thanks for the continued support.
Best regards
Peter
