Let’s start with the health updates, as per normal. I started the week with another physio session, which included acupuncture. I had another blood test on Wednesday afternoon, which was done ahead of the Consultant’s call on Monday of the coming week. It was towards the end of the day, so the results were not back by Friday; hopefully the Consultant has them for the phone call. Friday was then the 3-monthly hormone injection, which has the sole function of suppressing the PSA. Besides that, the discomfort around my groin area persists and I forgot to take my tablet on Saturday evening, which have added to an increase on Sunday morning. After taking my tablet on Sunday morning, it did ease off a little.
I managed 3 walks this week, 13:05, 13:11 and 13:00. Slower than normal, but focused on getting them in and keeping the focus on doing them. The higher temperatures this week, where we are, may be adding to the slower times and 2 of the walks were done in the late evenings, when it was cooler.
Sandra also had her pre-op assessment on Friday afternoon, ahead of her planned hip replacement op in 2 weeks time; overall, lots of medical ‘activity’ in the week that has just ended.
The main focus outside of the health situations, was to get all of the book files to the printer, await the proofs and sign them off, so they could start the physical task of printing them. As per Friday, I had signed off the reprints for:
WSS Knights - Volume 5
WSS Knights - Volume 6
Fritz Witt: Decisions and Fate (the fastest reprint I have had to do, to date)
I also made the final adjustments to the new veteran book and just awaiting the final proof version for sign off, which should be back with me Monday. Those above 3 titles are now being printed, with an August delivery date, hopefully ahead of Military Odyssey, which is our next big show we always attend. I also managed some more work on Volume 7, and managed one more divisional sized summary.
Last, but not least, I took my vintage Vespa out on Saturday, for a zoom around in the sun. It was a bit of test, as I was unsure how the groin discomfort may be impacted. Thankfully, it had no negative impact and I enjoyed zipping in and out of various slow traffic. During the past week, I also done some small additional work on Karl’s vintage scooter and had the engine running in the frame, for the first time in more than 10 years. Still lots to be done on that restoration, but nice to see key progress being made there.
I continue to value your unwavering interest and support in these writings.
Best regards
Peter
