The usual health updates first and following the issues of the previous week, I decided to have a more relaxed one this time. The uncomfortable feeling continues, to varying degrees, but as it is there constantly, I am just working around it (the blood test is on Monday). I had my latest physio session on Monday and it was a bit hard going, as he done acupuncture and I felt it; the residual impact carried on most of the week. I maintained my usual exercise regime, trying to offset that. My heat pack was also employed daily and on some days, more than once. I also managed two long walks, with timings of 12:56 and 13:07 - that one was impacted by talking to my son Karl for around half of it, beginning around 55% into the upward slope (I was impressed that I held the conversation and still obtained a decent time). Thursday was a day of oddity, with me feeling tired from the off. I just seemed to lack energy, and spent the majority of the day doing not a lot and letting it rebuild itself. I do not know where those types of impacts come from, what causes them, or how to preempt them. They can put paid to plans for the days when they decide to rear their heads, so I adjust around them, despite how annoying they can be.
On Thursday evening, I went ahead with a meet up with Howard and Matt, which was a very nice catch up, in great surroundings, with us having a nice meal at a seaside restaurant near us. They opened their large sliding windows and we sat there there catching up, with an uninterrupted view over the English Channel. The fact that both of these former work colleagues (both of them were my direct boss at varying times) give up their own time to spend time with me, is appreciated and always welcomed. Consistent friends like this are invaluable for people like me during the health challenges we deal with.
On the book front, I created the reprint book files for the printers, alongside detailing what I would like from them (quantities and individual titles) and am awaiting their final quote. The proof reading is more than half-way through too, which is great! Alongside that, I also had time to cover off more individual formation histories for Volume 7, with 1 Corps, 2 Divisions and 1 Heavy Tank Battalion crossed off the list.
Overall, a quieter week, deliberately, with the low-energy Thursday being the ‘speedbump’ for the past week, but one where key book advances have been made; little wins, but mentally important ones.
Thanks to everyone who supports this ongoing story of mine.
Regards
Peter
