The week started with the latest physio session, which was welcomed, following the long return journey to Newquay. He felt it was very tight and done some more acupuncture and manipulation, although I felt the pain and discomfort was okay. The walks and cycles got back into their main routine, mostly, with 2 cycles and 3 short walks undertaken. I missed out on a long walk this week, due to other commitments, but this coming week is when I plan to move to 2 of those per week. See below for some other health related aspects.

Part of the week was spent keeping in touch with Karl, helping him adjust to his new surroundings, with multiple video and voice calls, as he kept us up to date on all key elements. In between that, I took a day to do some ‘outside’ work, with time spent on starting the reassembly of Karl’s vintage scooter, which we had been working on together, recently. I also took my own Vespa out for a ride, but by the time I arrived at the destination, my right hand had a notable case of pins and needles (as reported before). This may be due to not doing long runs on the scoot much and the constant use of the right hand on the throttle? One of the legacies of the chemo treatment and the one aspect that no-one has been able to fathom. It is one of those aspects that makes you think about what you are doing and inhibits wider plans.

The writing aspects were mainly focused on the veteran’s book, with key aspects moved forwards. I also managed to complete the 100th biography for Volume 7 of the WSS Knights series.

The end of the week was a quiet one and the chosen photo for this week shows me and the grandkids, after we have cut the grass. I had only done this one week ago, but within 2 days, the dandelions and other wild flowers had very quickly sprouted up everywhere - reminded me of Day of the Triffids (one of my favourite non-fiction books when growing up), so we combined our forces to defeat them, with both of them helping me do rows of the cutting.

A less intense week, following some of the recent big changes, but one to focus on getting back to routine.

Your continued input is welcomed.

Best regards

Peter
